Last updated 7 October 2026. These terms replace the version dated 28 February 2025 and take effect on publication.
These terms govern your use of the MuseMuse mobile application and the website at musemuse.app, together the Service. By downloading, accessing or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree to them, do not use the Service.
Our privacy policy explains how we process personal data and forms part of these terms.
You are a consumer if you are using the Service wholly or mainly for personal use. Several clauses below apply differently to consumers, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
The Service is operated by MuseMuse Holdings Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with its registered office at 71 to 75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. In these terms we, us and our mean that company.
You can reach us at contact@musemuse.app.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf.
You must not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the law of any country that applies to you.
Some parts of the Service require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity carried out under your account.
Your account is personal to you. You may not sell, share or transfer it.
Tell us promptly at the address in clause 19 if you believe your account has been used without your authority.
You may close your account at any time in the application settings or by writing to us. Closing your account ends your access to any content you have purchased, and does not of itself cancel a subscription held with Apple or Google. See clause 7.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service and the content within it for your own private, non-commercial purposes, on devices you own or control.
This licence does not permit you to use the Service in the course of a business. In particular, you may not use the Service, or content taken from it, to deliver guided or commercial tours to other people, whether or not you charge for them.
All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.
The Service is free to download. A limited amount of content, including a daily featured artwork, is available without payment.
Premium access is sold either for a single museum or for all museums available in the application. What each plan includes, and what it costs in your currency, is shown in the application before you buy and on the App Store or Google Play listing.
The museums available in the application, and the tours within them, change over time. We do not guarantee that any particular museum, tour or artwork will remain available for the whole of your access period. See clause 14.
Premium access is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Your purchase contract is with Apple or Google, who take payment, hold your payment details and administer the subscription. We do not receive or process payment card data.
Premium plans renew automatically. Unless you cancel, your plan renews at the end of each period and the then current price is charged to your App Store or Google Play account. Charging takes place within 24 hours before the end of the period in progress.
You can turn off renewal at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. To avoid being charged for the next period, do so at least 24 hours before the current one ends. Turning off renewal does not end your current period: you keep access until it expires.
We may change the price of a plan. Where a price change affects a renewal, Apple or Google will notify you in advance and, where required, ask you to consent before the new price is charged. You may turn off renewal instead.
Because your purchase contract is with Apple or Google, cancellations and refunds are handled by them under their own terms. Requests should be made to the store you bought from, not to us.
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract for digital content within 14 days. That right is lost once supply of the digital content has begun with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose it. The store operates that right, and gives that consent prompt, on purchase.
Separately from any cancellation right, if digital content we supply is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or a price reduction under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the equivalent law where you live. Write to us at the address in clause 19 and we will help, including by supporting a refund request with the store.
Nothing in this clause limits your statutory rights.
Museum entry is not included. MuseMuse supplies the tour, not the ticket. You are responsible for gaining admission to any museum and for any admission charge.
Unless we state otherwise, we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or acting on behalf of the museums featured in the application. Museum names are used to identify the collections the content relates to.
The Service currently requires an internet connection to work. We do not guarantee that connectivity is available inside any particular museum.
You remain responsible for your own safety, for your belongings, and for observing the rules of any museum you visit, including rules on photography, phone use and audio. The Service is not a navigation aid and should not be relied on as one.
The Service, and everything we create for it, including written descriptions, audio recordings, tours, quizzes, illustrations, branding and software, is owned by us or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
Images of artworks are reproduced from public domain sources, from museum open access collections, or under licence. Rights in the underlying artworks, and in any photograph of them, remain with their respective owners. Our selection, arrangement, editing and accompanying commentary are our own work and are protected independently.
You may not copy, record, download, reproduce, publish, broadcast, adapt, translate or distribute any part of the Service, except as these terms expressly permit or the law expressly allows. This applies in particular to our audio recordings and written descriptions.
If you believe material in the Service infringes your rights, write to us at the address in clause 19 with details of the material and of your rights in it, and we will investigate promptly.
The art historical content in the Service is provided for general interest and education. Attributions, dates, interpretations and scholarly opinion change, and sources disagree. We take care over our content but we do not warrant that it is complete, current or free from error.
Museums move, rotate, lend and withdraw works without notice. Information about where an artwork hangs, or whether it is on display, may be out of date. Check with the museum before travelling to see a particular work.
If you find something you believe to be wrong, please tell us. We correct errors as a matter of course.
You must not:
Breach of this clause may result in suspension or termination under clause 15, and may be unlawful.
If you send us suggestions, corrections or other feedback about the Service, you agree that we may use it without restriction, without obligation to you and without payment. Anything we build as a result belongs to us. This does not give us any right to your personal data beyond what the privacy policy describes.
We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. It may be unavailable during maintenance, or because of a fault, or because of something outside our reasonable control.
We may add, change or remove features, museums, tours and content. Where a change materially reduces what your premium access gives you, we will tell you before it takes effect, and you may turn off renewal or ask us to help you seek a refund from the store for any period you have paid for and cannot use.
We may stop providing the Service altogether. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice and will deal fairly with access you have already paid for.
We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unlawful use of your account.
Where it is practical and lawful to do so, we will tell you before we act and give you an opportunity to put the matter right.
If we end your access other than because of your breach, we will deal fairly with any period you have paid for and cannot use.
Clauses 10, 13, 16, 17 and 19 survive the end of these terms.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if both parties knew it might happen when you accepted these terms.
We supply the Service for private use. If you are a consumer, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity. If you are not a consumer, we exclude all implied terms to the fullest extent the law permits, and our total liability in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, or through a store for our content, in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We are not liable for museum admission, closures, travel costs, or anything that occurs during a visit, nor for the acts or omissions of any museum.
These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, clause 17.1 does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
We may change these terms. The date at the head of this page records the most recent change.
Where a change materially affects your rights, we will give you reasonable notice in the application or by email before it takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you may stop using the Service and turn off renewal.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
These terms are between you and us. Nobody else has any right to enforce them.
If something has gone wrong, write to contact@musemuse.app and we will respond. We would rather fix a problem than argue about it.
